About Ragland
Located in Spokane, Washington, Ragland Institute formed in 2025 during a time of cultural tumult with a vision of providing lifelong learning programs for adults and capacity-building resources for nonprofits.
We are a private social enterprise nonprofit that operates on a model of earned revenue and in-kind support. Ragland’s nonsectarian approach and curriculum is inspired by American Daoist philosophies, the Bauhaus and Open Classroom movements, and integrates a blending of Eastern and Western contemplative practices.
Lifelong Learning
We believe that a holistic approach to education can transform adult lives at any age or life stage when it
• integrates mind, body, and spirit modalities
• prioritizes creativity and adaptability over fixed solutions
• encourages responsible digital citizenship
• supports creative, hands on civic engagement
• views every learner as a unique, creative being
• teaches methods for self-discovery and holistic self-care
• challenges people to discover and live their values.

Our non-degree learning opportunities serve adults of all ages and integrate contemplative practice, experiential learning, academic inquiry, and self care.
Nonprofit Capacity Services
We provide free resources and affordable, fee-based direct services to strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem in the areas of cybersecurity and team management.
